During the day yesterday the two remaining matches of the first leg of the Copa Chile were played. In the first round, Huachipato beat Coquimbo Unido and later, Cobresal and Universidad de Chile tied in an even match.
The ‘steelers’ did their homework at home by defeating Coquimbo Unido 1-0, leaving the key completely open for the second leg that will be played at the Francisco Sánchez Rumoroso. The solitary goal of Juan Sánchez Sotelo gave the triumph to Huachipato who arrives at the return with a minimal advantage.
In the match that closed the day, Cobresal and Universidad de Chile drew 1-1 in El Cobre of El Salvador. The Blues went ahead on the scoreboard at 41′ thanks to the unfortunate own goal of Iván Villalba, however, the ‘miners’ reacted in the second half, finding the equalizer goal after action of Cecilio Waterman at 66′. The qualifier will be defined in Valparaíso.
As in the first leg round, these crosses will be the last to be played and will announce the last two classified to the quarterfinals of the Copa Chile, in matches that will take place on Monday 22/8.
