“Future Woman”: Sense and Udemy launch 25,000 free online trainings with certificates to reduce gender employment gap

The National Training and Employment Service (Sence) and Udemy, an online learning and teaching platform, announced a historic alliance to promote digital transformation in Chile and reduce the gender employment gap.
“Mujer Futura” is part of the government’s plan that seeks to train 500,000 women in four years, in order to give them skills to access the labor market. This alliance allows access to more than 1,500 courses in Spanish, focused on 15 categories relevant to the world of work, also providing certification without associated costs. These licenses will be valid for three months, where the beneficiaries will be able to take all the courses they want. The only registration requirement is to have a Unique Key and be over 18 years old.
The Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Jeannette Jara, highlighted the initiative as good news that will enhance the capacities of women and, in this way, strengthen their economic autonomy. “These courses are a contribution to the employability of women, both those who are currently participating in the labor market and that large number of women who have not been inserted. We have reached pre-pandemic levels of women’s labor participation, but, without a doubt, the challenge is greater,” said the Secretary of State.
The main learning areas of “Future Woman” are: Cloud Computing, Information Science, Design, Development and Programming, Finance and Accounting, IT Operations, Leadership and Management, Marketing, Productivity in the Office, Personal Development, Project and Operations Management, Sales and Human Resources.
Udemy is a global and open online training platform. To date, it has more than 54 million students and more than 741 million enrollments in its courses. “Mujer Futura” marks Udemy’s first training alliance in Chile and is becoming one of the company’s most important social engagement projects globally.
“We understand that training is the vehicle between the person you are today and the person you want to be tomorrow, also betting on lifelong learning, continuous learning, throughout the life of the person. It is an honor to join forces with Sence to launch ‘Mujer Futura’ and bring more opportunities for professionalization and employability for Chilean women. Without a doubt, we hope to continue offering flexible and effective skills development opportunities in Chile,” said Raphael Spinelli, Regional Director for Latin America.
Spinelli also stressed that learning skills such as business intelligence, design and user experience, marketing, finance and accounting, human resources and talent development, sales and customer experience, are key aspects to retain talent in 2022, precisely the opportunity offered by “Future Woman”.
The event was headed by the Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Jeannette Jara, together with the national director (s) of Sence, Rodrigo Valdivia; the regional director of Udemy for Latin America, Raphael Spinelli, and the seremi of The Work, Marco Canales.
