They will attend to victims of real estate corruption in Benito Juárez

The Government of Mexico City announced the installation of attention tables for possible victims of corruption in real estate developments in Benito Juárez, as part of the actions that the authorities have initiated against the network of former officials accused of alleged illicit enrichment.
At a press conference, officials explained that they seek to attend to defrauded people, as well as to advance in investigations against officials who gave irregular permits in this mayor’s office.

According to the Secretary of Urban Development and Housing, Carlos Ulloa Pérez, it will seek to protect citizens who acquired properties in this area and are under three scenarios:
Those who have purchased a property at levels higher than those allowed in the land use certificate of the property.
Also those who have problems to deed their apartment, “either because the real folios are frozen, or because the notary does not allow the operation because the characteristics of the property do not coincide with the use of land”.

In addition, “any other case that affects the patrimony of people or the exercise of their rights” will also be attended, due to an improper construction process.
They even pointed out that people affected by possible acts of corruption in the purchase of properties that are not within the demarcation will also be able to go to these attention tables.
The attention tables will be enabled from next Monday, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in San Lorenzo 712 (ground floor), in the Del Valle Centro neighborhood, within the Benito Juárez mayor’s office.
On August 29, the Prosecutor’s Office of Mexico City said it had detected 69 properties related to the corruption network denounced in the mayor’s office.
According to the capital authorities, the 69 properties detected in the mayor’s office – built between 2014 and 2021 – present “possible irregularities in their construction” in the neighborhoods with the highest surplus value of the mayor’s office, such as the Del Valle neighborhood, Narvarte, Christmas Eve, and Naples.
