Campazzo, after the distinction to Ginóbili: “For us it is something very significant”

Facundo Campazzo, current starting point guard and figure of the Argentine basketball team, stressed that for the Argentines it is “very significant” the distinction received by his former teammate Emanuel Ginóbili, who is part of the NBA Hall of Fame in the United States. In this sense, after the victory against the United States in the AmeriCup (Copa America) held in the city of Recife, Brazil, the 31-year-old from Cordoba commented: “For us Argentines it is something very significant. Maybe he was the first Argentine and the only one to receive that award”, in dialogue with ‘Solo basquet’.

“We have to take dimension of what it represents not so much as athletes or basketball players but as a country. What ‘Manu’ (Ginobili) represents, beyond any sport, is something very big,” added the player of the Denver Nuggets of the NBA. Finally, the ex-Peñarol of Mar del Plata recalled the moments lived with the left-handed guard who immortalized the 20 shirt in the San Antonio Spurs: “What I keep most from him is what I learned by his side. The values he teaches and instills in you, without even talking to you sometimes. That’s fabulous,” he said.
