Three people – a woman and two men – were arrested for being allegedly responsible for the murder of teacher Elizabeth N, of the primary school “Adolfo Ruíz Cortines” in Xalapa, reported the Prosecutor’s Office of Veracruz.
The detainees are Daly Ariadna “N”, Juan Carlos “N” and Argenis “N”, allegedly responsible for the crimes of femicide against the person who served as deputy director of the school and injuries to a minor caused to the detriment of a child.
The agency reported that the Judge of Control and Oral Criminal Procedure of the XI Judicial District of Xalapa charged the detainees with trial.
In the initial hearing, the prosecutor’s office said, an informal preventive detention for one year was imposed as a precautionary measure for the three people, within the criminal process 357/2022.
Murder of teacher in “revenge for labor problems”: governor
The governor of Veracruz, Cuitláhuac García, explained that one of the people arrested was a co-worker from the same school where the victim worked.
“The detained teacher would have acted in revenge for labor problems,” the president said on his social networks.
According to ministerial investigations, Daly N worked as a teacher at the school that Elizabeth N directed and after some personal problems that arose between them, the detainee threatened to kill the deputy director, reported the newspaper Reforma.
Teacher killed in Veracruz
On September 21, the murder of teacher Elizabeth N was reported, when she was getting out of her vehicle parked in front of the elementary school, located in the Aguacatal neighborhood.
The murder was recorded by security cameras that show the moment in which two people on a motorcycle approached and shot him on several occasions and then fled the place.
Elizabeth N was preparing to start her work as deputy director of the campus; his 7-year-old grandson witnessed the murder and was shot and wounded.
According to data from the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System, Veracruz accumulates one thousand 268 homicides until last August, as well as 49 femicides.
