Israeli spokesman points out that “the President of Chile already understood his mistake” after impasse with Ambassador Gil Artzyeli

The spokesman of the Israeli Prime Minister, Lior Hayat, referred to the impasse of the President of the Republic, Gabriel Boric, with the ambassador of Israel in Chile, Gil Artzyeli, when he did not receive the credentials of the authority.
According to La Tercera, Hayat said he was “surprised” and that this action “goes against protocol and was based on wrong information.”
“If the president of Chile believes that the death of a terrorist, because it has been terrorism, has to change the agenda and diplomacy of his country, it is a decision that we see as wrong,” he said.
He also said that the issue “remains on the agenda. In many cases there are people in the world who believe that being pro-Palestinian means being anti-Semitic and I think that’s a mistake.”
“Whoever is really pro-Palestinian, has to be pro-peace and support the factors that support a peace agreement and be against extremists and against terrorists. Because Palestinian terrorists do not make life better for Palestinians, but bring them more misery and more violence. And a lot of that violence is done within the Palestinian people,” he added.
It should be noted that in mid-September, President Boric canceled at the last minute a scheduled appointment with Artzyeli. This, after learning of the death of a 17-year-old Palestinian boy in the framework of an Israeli army operation.
