Massa said that the Now 30 plan will serve to take care of consumption and the domestic market

The Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, said today that relaunching the “Now 30” program for the purchase of household appliances “is to take care of consumption, the domestic market, the purchasing power of wages, which is one of the great objectives of our government.” The program includes 273 products including cell phones, televisions, refrigerators, washing machines and low-consumption air conditioners, which have “fixed prices until December 21,” which is “merit of the industry that manufactures part of the appliances,” Massa said when presenting the program during an event in the Buenos Aires district of Lomas de Zamora.

At the same time, the head of the Economy Ministry thanked the banks for the financing and stressed that “the State costs ‘zero’ this program.” When presenting the program during a ceremony held at the Lomas de Zamora branch of the Frávega chain, Massa stressed that the purchase program in 30 fixed installments will have an annual interest rate of 48%, significantly below that existing in the market.

“This is the product of the efforts of the retail chains, of the industrialists of Afarte (appliances) of the associations of banks, and obviously, of the work program of the Ministry of Commerce, but this has no fiscal cost,” said the minister. The Minister of Economy was accompanied by the Secretary of Commerce, Matías Tombolini; the Chief of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Province of Buenos Aires, Martín Insaurralde; and executives of banks, appliance factories, and supermarket chains, among others. Massa pondered that the rate of 48% “is half of what is paid by the credit card, and has to do with the decision to accompany the two associations of banks that guarantee us $ 200,000 per unit at most, a huge level of financing for all. ”
