Aggressions of deputies: Vlado Mirosevic will seek that sanctions reach 100% of the diet against physical attacks

The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Vlado Mirosevic (PL), intends to promote modifications to the regulations of the Corporation to increase the punishments of deputies who star in aggressions. In case of physical attacks, the legislator will seek sanctions of 100% of the parliamentary diet.
In a conversation with Radio Bío Bío, Mirosevic pointed out that the current regulation is weak, in terms of punishments for aggressions. “In the past, being sent to the Ethics Commission was a shame, but today it has been normalized, therefore, I will propose an increase in economic sanctions that are significant, so that they think twice,” he said.

“My original proposal, I don’t know if they are going to approve me in those terms, but physical aggression, for example, I (would sanction) 100% of the diet, immediately. And what would we do with that money, to civic education to high schools, “added the legislator.
In turn, he commented that there is an “atmosphere of tension” in the Lower House and that “respect has been lost.”
“There is a group that twitches tempers and generates tensions. We have from blows, where Deputy De La Carrera hit another deputy, to verbal aggressions, which is very recurrent. When someone is intervening, the rest stop, interrupt and scream,” he said.
Recall that De la Carrera (ex-Republican Party) physically assaulted legislator Alexis Sepúlveda (Radical Party) at the end of August of this year. The Ethics Committee of the Lower House decided to apply the maximum sanction: censorship and 15% of its parliamentary diet.
