Mitre train: for works they will not enter Retiro from Monday until the end of April

The trains of the Mitre Line will not enter from this Monday and until the end of April to the Retiro station for the realization of works on the access roads to the railway terminal, sources of Trenes Argentinos reported today.During that period, the services will be provided between the José León Suárez and Tres de Febrero stations and between Tigre and Belgrano C, while the service between Belgrano C and Mitre, will continue to operate as it is currently doing. Sources indicated that during that period “there will be no bus service available for the transfer from Tres de Febrero or Belgrano C, to Retiro.” The works that will be carried out in Retiro consist of the complete dismantling of all the components of the tracks and the adaptation of the surface where the renewed laying will later be located. In turn, drains will be improved, ballast stone will be placed, welding and alignment of rails will be carried out and new sleepers will be installed and the power supply will be modernized, it was officially reported. The work includes the total renovation of the train entrance tracks to the Retiro terminal of the Mitre line. “These works are necessary to improve the provision of the service since, since its construction more than 100 years ago, it was never intervened in an integral way,” said the sources. The lack of investment in this sector has been the cause of delays and cancellations of the three branches: more than 70% of the affectations occur due to failures in the signal, energy or track change systems, “they said. Once the works, which have an estimated date at the end of April, are completed, the branches to José León Suárez and Tigre will re-enter the Retiro station. Meanwhile, the branch that goes to the Mitre station, will continue to operate normally, until Belgrano C.
