South American U-20: Argentina lost in its debut to Paraguay

On Saturday afternoon, the Argentina U-20 team lost in its debut in the South American tournament against Paraguay by 2 to 1, with goals from Gilberto Flores and Allan Wlk for those led by Pedro Sarabia, while Máximo Perrone scored for the “Albiceleste”. Without much action during the first half, Flores’ goal came after a defensive error at the start. The defender took the ball a little further from midfield in the left sector and, approaching the area, shot a few steps from the crescent. That shot went into the hands of Federico Gomes Gerth, but the ball slipped away and ended up entering the goal. However, three minutes later, after a good play by Santiago Castro on the left wing, Perrone received the center and under the empty goal marked the equality. With the game one by one the selected ones went to the break. Started the complement, in the 54th minute, after a few arrivals, Lautaro Di Lollo touched the ball with his hand in the area and caused a penalty for the Paraguayan team. It was Wlk who was in charge of kicking from the eleven steps and, by directing the ball to the lower left corner of the goalkeeper, put the final 2 to 1. With this result, the team led by Javier Mascherano began the South American U-20 with a defeat in group A, which also shares with Peru, Colombia and Brazil.
