Fito at its best, Ciro sinfónico and Ca7riel & Paco crazed closed the Cosquín Rock

If the first day of Cosquín Rock 2023 had had a good share of rock, cumbia and electronics, the second could not be less. With an emphasis on the emotional and the experimental, the closing of the festival put its audience in the highest place to which music can take one and, on top of that, added an incredible landscape between the mountains. The heat of the afternoon did not prevent the Santa María de Punilla property from being filled early. Whether to tour what the day before could not or see artists like The Colorated, Manu Martínez, Cruzando el Charco or Jóvenes Pordioseros, the cosquinera tribune was ready for more. Undoubtedly, one of the great attractions of the afternoon was Fito Páez and the celebration of the 30th anniversary of “El amor después del amor”, a key album of national and Latin American rock. All the preparations seemed to focus on the Rosario playing 18.45 on the South Stage, how to arrive in time to get a good place, hydrated and, if possible, away from the sun. Making himself wait a little, and aggionardo to the times that run dressed in a set of Nike yellow fluor and with cell phone in hand, Fito appeared singing the theme that gives name to the album. From that moment, he did not stop delighting the audience who, whether children or adults, sang the lyrics with passion alike. Not for nothing will Páez have chosen that schedule: the sunset announcing himself behind the mountains and he singing to love. Meanwhile, just on the other side of the property, Las Pastillas del Abuelo did a little the same but in a neighborhood rock key and with rags and hands waving overhead. For their part, the Chinese Bandals took over the Mountain Stage with the tranquility of having toured stages in Latin America and Spain all with a repertoire that sounded exquisite with the sound of that stage. In that same sector he would later play a Babasónicos as oiled as hypnotizing and with a Dárgelos especially comfortable with himself. From the North stage would surprise a Cyrus this time united not only to The Persians but also to the Orchestra. Taking the show he presented on the court of Vélez, the former Los Piojos spared no effort and dyed his setlist of drama and depth, something that is rarely seen at festivals. On the opposite side, Dillom made his debut on one of the main stages just a year after playing for the first time at the festival in one of the side tents. A lot of smoke effect, theatricality in the movements of the singer and the mashup of “Una vela” by Intoxicados + the own “Rili Rili” that never fails, less in a Cosquín Rock.Another member of the crew called Rip Gang to which Dillom belongs was preparing on the other side: Taichu, who with his presence ate the entire Paraguay stage, staying for nothing post show girl of The Doctor, another heavy of the scene. For many, the closing of the night was given by the relentless duo of Ca7riel and Paco Amoroso. Both with sacks, the last fluorine yellow color and probably patent leather. Little did his partner last, the most hardcore leg of the duo, who usually stays with his torso naked in the middle of his fiery presentationsThe setlist was a balanced pass between Paquito’s love and sex songs and those of whatever Cato sings to. His highest moments were clearly in tandem, with the very heavy “Jala Jala”, “Cono Hielo” and his reference to the fernet that on Cordovan soil made the public explode, and the technosa “Para Afuera”. The measured but close and very worthy contact with the public recall those days of 2019 when the duo took their same audience to Niceto Club, the Recoleta Cultural Center or even the former ESMA, always to give everything and with their audience giving everything together with them. For others, the closing was Las Pelotas who deployed their extensive repertoire and chatted a lot with a tired but present and above all massive audience. And finally for those who endured post 1 am, Tiësto was their glorious closing. Well up to end a hot weekend, convening, and at the top: enjoying music a lot.
