The head of the IMF met with Massa and said that “progress is being made at a good pace”

On the sidelines of the G20 Summit for Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors in Bengaluru, India, Economy Minister Sergio Massa had the opportunity to hold a meeting with the managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva.After the meeting, Georgieva shared on Twitter a photo where she is seen with the minister and said: “Very good talk with Sergio Massa on the sidelines of the G20 in India about the new challenges facing the ministers of economy and Argentina.” He also made it clear that “good progress is being made in the fourth review of the program and we hope to communicate its conclusion soon.” At the meeting, the head of the Economy Ministry was accompanied by the director of the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INDEC) and Secretary of International Economic and Financial Affairs, Marcos Lavagna; while the head of the IMF attended with the deputy managing director, Gita Gopinath.During his stay in India, Massa was also able to hold meetings with the Vice Minister of Finance of China, Wang Dongwei, the ministers of Economy of Italy, Giancarlo Giorgetti, of Germany, Christian Lindner; from France, Bruno Le Maire; and from Brazil, Fernando Haddad; among others. The central point of each of the meetings was the possibility of expanding investments in Argentina, the drought and the impact of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
