This new guide is made from the most awarded wines, vines and regions, showcasing the talents that work in the vineyards and those who have a high performance in winemaking. It also includes those who have obtained the highest distinctions in the Drinks Business Global Masters.
Faulconer said that this recognition “is not only on a personal level, but also for my country and the Viña Carmen team. Chile is incredible, with a winemaking and cultural tradition that has inspired me to get to know it more and thus make different and innovative wines.”
In this regard, Labbé added that “we are fortunate to have the opportunity to work in vineyards that have tremendous potential to continue producing world-class wines capable of achieving this type of recognition.”
Viña Carmen’s icon wine, Carmen Gold 2019, was recognized and included in the ranking of the Best Cabernet Sauvignon in the world by The Drinks Business and won a Gold Medal in the Drinks Business’ Cabernet Sauvignon Global Masters.
On the other hand, the icon wine of Santa Rita and which is also part of La Place de Bordeaux since 2021, Casa Real Reserva Especial, was also recognized with its 2019 vintage and included in the ranking of the Best Cabernet Sauvignon and like Viña Carmen, obtained Gold Medal in the Drinks Business’ Cabernet Sauvignon Global Masters.
For his part, Labbé commented that “it is an honor to have been named as one of the 100 best winemakers in the world. I think it’s not just a personal award, but also for the entire Santa Rita team. We are fortunate to have the opportunity to work in vineyards that have tremendous potential to continue producing world-class wines capable of achieving these types of recognitions.”
The competition looks for the wines that have topped the list of noble grape varieties, major wine styles and notable regions to come up with a ranking of the best-performing properties, and then profiles the winemakers who were responsible for creating the medal-winning wine.
