Day of Remembrance for Truth and Justice: marches and calls

Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo along with other organizations that defend human rights such as Mothers of Plaza de Mayo Founding Line, Relatives of Disappeared and Detained for Political Reasons, H.I.J.O.S. Capital, Permanent Assembly for Human Rights, among others, called to march at 2 pm in Piedras and Av. de Mayo, with the slogan “Memory, Truth and Justice to defend democracy.” La Cámpora invited people to walk the streets to defend “Democracy without mafias”. The march began at 9:30 a.m. at Ex. ESMA and will visit different parts of the City of Buenos Aires.  For their part, the Socialist Workers Party and Left Unity Front called for a “march independent of the government and its different sectors.” At 12 o’clock they will concentrate on the Obelisk and from there march to Plaza de Mayo.  From the political space “Les jovenes” they called to mobilize at 3 pm in Hipólito Yrigoyen 1584. After the march they will go to the Court to “ask for the resignation” of the judges of the High Court, of being “destroying democracy.”
the CTA Autónoma also called for mobilization in Av. May and July 9 at 13 hours. “40 years after the recovery of Democracy we continue shouting ‘It’s 30,000!'” they wrote on their Instagram account.
For its part, the CGT will concentrate at 10 a.m. on Hipólito Yrigoyen and Combate de los Pozos for “democracy and the full validity of the rule of law.” 47 years after the last civic-military coup, the Day of Remembrance for Truth and Justice commemorates the victims, so that coups d’état and human rights violations “never happen again.”
