Mayor of Calama follows the path of Carter and concrete first demolition of narco-house: warns that it will be “without mercy”

As the mayor of La Florida, Rodolfo Carter, has carried out in recent weeks, the Municipality of Calama completed the first demolition of infrastructure of a house linked to drug trafficking, better known as “narco-houses.” The municipality announced that it is the first of 16 buildings that will be affected.
Specifically, the mayor of Calama, Eliecer Chamorro, said that the neighbors of the sector knew and that “it was made public” that the demolished house was used for drug-related situations. “In addition, it is located in two schools of more than 2,000 children, 100 meters from the place.”
He also warned that “this will be without mercy against those who harm Calama. In this demolition we will make a definitive closure and cut off the water and electricity. We have a decree for a good number of properties, about 16, starting with this first intervention of demolition of real estate.”
It should be noted that the Municipality of Calama justified its actions on the basis of the General Law of Urbanism and Constructions, in its article 148.3 by problems of unhealthiness and insecurity. “We are using all legal tools and will continue to support together against crime,” said Mayor Chamorro.
