UNAB has service points for free tax assistance in Operation Income 2023

Operation Income 2023 is already underway and there are many taxpayers looking to make a successful and uncomplicated return. In this context, students of the School of Auditor Accountant of the Andrés Bello University (UNAB) are conducting free tax advice, for taxpayers who do not know how to make their income statement and do not have the resources to pay for an advisor.
For the fifth consecutive year, students of the career in the Santiago Headquarters and Viña del Mar Headquarters collaborate with the Internal Revenue Service (SII) Regional Santiago Oriente and Regional Valparaíso in this process.
The points of attention arranged are located in:

UNAB Santiago Headquarters: Los Leones Campus. Avenida Los Leones 745 Providencia piso 1. Monday to Friday in April from 09:00 to 13:00 (Metro Los Leones).
UNAB Viña del Mar Headquarters: Quillota Campus. Calle Quillota 980 piso 6 Viña del Mar. Monday to Friday in April from 09:00 to 13:00.

In addition, within the framework of the ongoing process, the director of the UNAB Auditor Accountant School, Roberto Carvajal, offers some tips and recommendations that can be of great help.
First of all, he explains, it is important to bear in mind that the income declaration process is carried out throughout the month of April, except for those who do not have to pay taxes, whose deadline runs until May 10 online.
Key process data
The academic explains that all taxpayers of 1st and 2nd category have the obligation to declare income, except, in the case of the latter, those with annual income equal to or less than $ 9,907,434 or those who have a single employer or payer in 2022 without rebates or credits.
In the case of having a Proposal for a Declaration, highlights Carvajal, it is advisable to review it on the website of the Internal Revenue Service (SII) with Unique Code or Tax Code through the menu “Income Statement” in Online Services. “You must verify that the data is correct and approve the declaration. But if the return is more complex, you must complete Form 22 from scratch,” he says.
This year, he adds, the SII began withholding tax refunds from taxpayers who are in the national registry of alimony debtors.
The academic emphasizes that “if the tax obligation is not complied with within the indicated deadlines, interest, CPI readjustments and fines can be generated”. Similarly, there will also be “greater taxation of profits received from abroad and rental income from residential real estate other than DFL 2.”
Four tips
It is important to note that, if the declaration was made between April 01 and 08, and the declaration does not present problems, Treasury will make the payment by electronic transfer on April 20. Therefore, you must make sure to enter the bank details correctly in Form 22.
In that sense, the director of the UNAB School of Counting Auditor also offers some tips to make a successful tax return:

Verify the SII proposal: The information with which the proposal is made must be correct, according to the background that the taxpayer has. If in doubt, ask for assistance or help from someone with specialized knowledge in the subject.
Use the benefits: The most common in Natural Persons are the reduction of interest paid on loans with mortgage guarantee and credit for education expenses, if the requirements are met.
Partial or total payment of social security contributions: In the case of taxpayers who receive income through the issuance of Fee Slips. This year the partiality is 47%. There are taxpayers who are exempt from this payment, such as those who issued fee slips for a gross amount less than 5 minimum monthly income.
Declare the withdrawal of AFP from Law 21,295: The final deadline to make such withdrawal was until April 2022. If the withdrawal was made between January and April 2022, you must be declared income, if you have income greater than 30 UTA (i.e. $ 22,016,520).
