75 Legislature backs fight against gender violence: Daniela de los Santos

Morelia, Michoacán. – Deputy Daniela de los Santos, endorsed the commitment of the 75th Legislature to work hand in hand with the competent authorities in favor of gender equality and the frontal fight against violence against women, they reported through a statement.
After attending the 2nd Workshop School for Men, for the Prevention and Eradication of Gender Violence, given by the head of the National Commission to Prevent and Eradicate Violence against Women, Fabiola Alanís Sámano, the local deputy said that although public policies on the matter are fundamental in this fight, Homeschooling is also important, where parents should foster in their children a sense of equality between men and women.
“Something we must transmit to our children is that women are neither more nor less than men; that we are authentically equal”; So, “to achieve true equity, things must start from home, teach them that everything must be equal, household tasks and responsibilities, among many other things,” he said.

In that sense, the legislator reiterated that to generate better public policies, the joint vision of men and women is necessary, and not just one of the sectors.
The deputy congratulated the College of Scientific and Technological Studies of the State of Michoacán (CECyTEM), for carrying out this type of activities that seek to raise awareness about gender violence and stressed that it should be an example for more dependencies and thus achieve true equity throughout the country.
