The Ministry of the Interior released details of the agreement signed with the Argentine Post Office for the general logistics and infrastructure of the provisional count of results of the PASO and this year’s general elections, which will take place on August 13 and October 22, respectively. According to an official statement from the national agency, the agreement with the official mail is $ 19,391,346,000 for services for the PASO elections and the General Elections, and $ 2,154,594,000 in case of carrying out a second round, which includes the provision of pre-electoral services, services during election day, security and contingency services and post-electoral services. This measure is part of the actions carried out by the Interior portfolio through the National Electoral Directorate (DINE) to “give continuity to the electoral calendar”, and adds to the agreements signed weeks ago with the Printing House of Congress and with the Mint for the printing of lists and posters for the 2023 elections, in addition to the acquisition of envelopes and disposable ballot boxes through a public tender and the award to the company Indra of the provisional results counting service.” The services provided under this agreement include: the distribution of electoral rolls to the 24 Electoral Secretariats and to the places stipulated for the exhibition; the distribution of electoral materials such as ballot boxes, training manuals, electoral kit boxes and the distribution, assembly and withdrawal of mobile darkrooms; dispatch and delivery of appointments, acknowledgments of receipt, excuses and notifications from table authorities; reception and logistics of ballots; the advance deployment of ballot boxes to each polling station; Provision and distribution of refreshments for table authorities and judicial delegates,” the statement said. In addition, the “withdrawal of ballot boxes, minutes, telegrams and lagging material” is contemplated; dispatch of table counting telegrams; the logistics for the vote of voters deprived of liberty; contingency vehicles; clearing service for polling station authorities and judicial delegates; provision of physical spaces for the development of the activities of provisional counting of results in each of the electoral days and in the tests and simulations that are carried out”.
