Cerundolo lost the final in Lyon to Fils

On a chaotic afternoon in Lyon, Francisco Cerúndolo lost in the ATP final against local Arthur Fils – number 112 in the world – 6-3 and 7-5 and from next Monday he will occupy the 27th position in the ranking. After surprising with a crushing victory over the British Cameron Norrie -12 of the world and one of the favorites of the contest-, the Argentine did not have a good afternoon in France. Upset in the middle of the match, Cerúndolo argued with his coach Kevin Konfederak and went so far as to ask him to leave the court, and even talked to the umpire to get him out. After a 6-3 in the first set, during the second part both players gave up the serve, and the Argentine finished with 7 double faults. In this way, the 18-year-old Frenchman who in his first participation in the ATP circuit reached two semifinals, won his first tournament after entering for a wild card. He also became the youngest ATP champion of the current season. Looking ahead to the Roland Garros that starts next week, Fils will debut against Alejandro Davidovich when invited by the organizers, while Cerúndolo will be present for the third time in the contest, and will have his first match on Monday against Jaime Munar -77 of the ranking-. A few months ago, the Argentine beat the Spaniard at the Argentina Open 6-2, 6-1.
