Ituzaingó: a couple and their daughter died in a tragic fire

During the strong storm this Friday, a couple and their 12-year-old daughter died as a result of the fire in their home, located in the Buenos Aires district of Ituzaingó. The incident occurred in the middle of the night in a house located at 700 El Chajá Street, Villa Udaondo locality, where, for reasons that are still unknown, a fire broke out that summoned several firefighters. Upon entering the place, the brigades found three people inside. According to reports, they were María José Mónaco, 45, Edgardo Logario, 46, and Rafaela, 12, the couple’s daughter. The girl and the man were found dead when firefighters managed to control the flames, while the woman was found with vital signs and severe burns on her body. Despite having been rushed to the Bicentennial Hospital of Ituzaingó, she died within hours as a result of injuries caused by the fire. According to neighbors in the area, the couple had another daughter, 15, who was saved from the fire because the night before she had stayed overnight at a friend’s house. As a result of the strong storm registered during the night in much of the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA), the vicinity of the burned home was flooded which made it difficult for firefighters to access the place.
