Sergio Massa: “We had to face a difficult one but we do not hide”

Sergio Massa, current Minister of Economy and presidential candidate for the Union for the Fatherland (UxP) party, made a visit this Saturday to the Buenos Aires district of La Matanza as part of his electoral campaign. Along his route, he inaugurated the new Carcaraña level crossing and visited the train monitoring center in the town of Gregorio de Laferrere. Accompanying the candidate were the Minister of Transport, Diego Giuliano, the vice governor of the province of Buenos Aires and candidate for re-election, Verónica Magario, and the mayor of La Matanza, Fernando Espinosa.During the inauguration of the level crossing, Massa highlighted the importance of this municipality. Massa stated that “La Matanza is the capital of Peronism, the symbol of hope of Argentines, since it represents an Argentina that works, produces and progresses, while other places are only dedicated to criticizing and questioning.” In that sense, he questioned the leaders of the opposition who “call to implode everything, as if there were no people inside.” “We had to face a difficult one but we do not hide, we look straight ahead, we put our chest and privilege what the people need over those issues of the financial homeland,” he added. The minister’s presence in the town came just one day after the electoral board of Union for the Fatherland gave the green light to the pre-candidacy of María Laura Ramírez in that district. Ramírez, who currently holds the position of director of Critical Assistance in the Ministry of Social Development of the Nation and has the support of Victoria Tolosa Paz, holder of that portfolio.
