They form neighborhood committees to ensure order. 66 surveillance cameras will be installed and public spaces will be rescued.
Morelia, Michoacán. – The Secretariat of Welfare (Sedebi) took protest to the members of the neighborhood committees of the Villas del Pedregal subdivision of Morelia, as part of the inter-institutional program Barrio Bienestar Fortapaz, who, in coordination with the Government of Michoacán, will ensure security and order.
This comprehensive strategy for the pacification and prevention of violence with citizen participation, contemplates the installation of 66 surveillance cameras that will be distributed in the five stages of the subdivision and connected to the State Center for Command, Communications, Computing, Control, Coordination and Intelligence (C5i).
The team will be monitored by the residents of the subdivision where 39,000 people live, who will organize rescue days of their public spaces, in order to dignify their places of recreation.
“Resuming support for others, being citizens, and actors with a great humanistic sense, will help us face any eventuality and make society feel safe in their neighborhoods,” said Welfare Secretary Giulianna Bugarini Torres.
For his part, Secretary of Government, Carlos Torres Piña, mentioned that the above is possible thanks to the fact that Michoacán has an upright governor, who is honestly exercising the resource that belongs to the people, and that has allowed programs such as Fortapaz to crystallize, which is a resource of one billion pesos that is destined to those who need it most.
The person in charge of the order of the subdivision, Dulce Fernández, thanked the intention of the Government of Michoacán to raise awareness that teamwork must be a team. “We will be the direct link between the settlers and the authorities so that order reaches Villas (del Pedregal) and families feel safe living here,” he concluded.
