Civil Guard reinforces actions to prevent human trafficking

Morelia, Michoacán.- In compliance with the task of safeguarding the life and integrity of people, the Government of Michoacán, through the Ministry of Public Security (SSP), permanently maintains actions that contribute to the prevention and eradication of the crime of trafficking in persons, they said in a statement.
In this crime, the victims are used for exploitation purposes in pornography, prostitution, in a labor way, or they are abused in other ways. Although everyone can be a victim, women, children and adolescents, as well as migrants, are more vulnerable.
According to figures from the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (SESNSP), at the national level, and so far this year, 337 cases of this crime have been registered in the country. State of Mexico, Mexico City, Quintana Roo, and Baja California are the entities with the highest index with 79, 63, 51 and 32 cases, respectively; while Michoacán has only two in the same period.
In this sense, the elements of the Civil Guard daily reinforce the preventive works throughout the state territory; Through tasks of social proximity in schools, public and work spaces, the agents of the SSP make citizens aware of the different forms of trafficking, exploitation and the actions that must be avoided in order not to be victims.
The above, together with the patrols and permanent tours in the different municipalities, their colonies, localities and mountain areas, to maintain communication and strengthen the bonds of trust between society and authority.
If you receive messages in which they seek to seduce you, delude you, threaten you, blackmail you, intimidate you, or with the promise of giving you things you like, talk to a person you trust and report immediately to the emergency telephone number 911, your complaint is important. With coordinated work between society and authorities, any crime that threatens the population is effectively combated.
