SSP and Segob guarantee security to tortilleros and bakers of Uruapan

The Undersecretariat of Specialized Investigation (SIE) of the Civil Guard, in collaboration with the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), will address the issue of possible extortion of the bread and tortilla industries of Uruapan, they reported in a statement.
This was agreed in a meeting with representatives of these unions, which was headed by the Secretary of Government, Carlos Torres Piña; the Secretary of Public Security, José Alfredo Ortega Reyes; and the municipal president, Ignacio Benjamín Campos Equihua.
“This Undersecretariat of Research manages everything in a professional manner and with results in favor of citizenship. All in close communication with the Prosecutor’s Office,” Torres Piña said.
In the case of Michoacán this crime is prosecuted ex officio, however, the State Government has already filed the complaint for possible issues of extortion against bakers, tortilleros and transporters.
At the meeting it was detailed that in this comprehensive strategy inter-institutional patrols will be made by businesses, bases and public transport routes, where the Civil Guard and the Municipal Police will participate to guarantee the tranquility of those affected.
“With state and municipal security, and with the help of the population, we will solve this scenario,” said Public Security Secretary José Alfredo Ortega Reyes.
The municipal president emphasized that the authorities are in the best disposition to solve the issue of security and asked those present to have confidence in the work being done.
“We have the good spirit to work together to solve what is presented to us. Today we had a security meeting with the governor and he has guaranteed us all the support for this situation, therefore, now with the state authorities we plan the strategies to address this scenario, “said Ignacio Campos.
Finally, the authorities present, including the Regional Prosecutor’s Office of Uruapan, asked the injured to work together to solve the matter that afflicts them.
