Massa announced a tax regularization program for micro, small and medium enterprises

Economy Minister and presidential candidate Sergio Massa unveiled a tax debt payment plan aimed at benefiting nearly 400,000 taxpayers in Argentina. The program is designed to support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, small taxpayers and non-profit entities that face delinquency or non-compliance with the Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP). According to the official announcement of the Ministry of Economy, the plan will provide the opportunity for 397,000 SMEs, non-profit entities and small taxpayers to regularize their fiscal situation, thus alleviating the financial pressure they have faced due to their tax debts. One of the most attractive features of the program is the extensive duration of the payment plan, which spans a ten-year period with 120 monthly installments. This exceptional period will allow beneficiaries to address their obligations due until August 31 in a more manageable and effective way. In addition, what caught the attention is the low interest rate of 4.14% per month, which represents barely a third of the inflation rate registered last month, which reached 12.4%. This favourable rate will further alleviate the financial burden on beneficiaries and facilitate the regularization of their debts. The plan also contemplates the suspension of tax foreclosures, the issuance of debt slips and the embargoes carried out by the AFIP, providing additional respite to those who were at risk of having their assets and bank accounts affected. The distribution of the beneficiaries of this program is as follows: 248,813 microenterprises (62.7% of the total beneficiaries), 13,675 small enterprises (3.4%), 2,097 medium-sized companies of “Tranche I” (0.5%), 95,581 small taxpayers (24.1%) and 36,594 non-profit entities (9.2%) are expected to take advantage of this opportunity for tax regularization.
