Alberto Fernández will begin the last international trip of his administration

Alberto Fernández begins his last months as president of the Nation, that is why, next week he will make his last official trip that will be to the People’s Republic of China. On October 14 he will arrive in Shanghai with the aim of meeting with Dilma Rousseff, head of the BRICS Bank, and on October 17 he will go to Beijing to participate in the III Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. In the meeting with the former president of Brazil, Fernández will again show his intentions for the country to integrate the economic bloc formed by Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS). In August, the group announced its expansion, something that also opened the doors to Egypt, Ethiopia, Saudi Arabia, Iran and the United Arab Emirates as of January 1, 2024.Despite the fact that the incorporation into the BRICS is almost a fact and that the ruling party celebrates it, the opposition rejected it, since Patricia Bullrich assured that Argentina “will not be in BRICS” and Javier Milei made it clear that “it will not be in BRICS” We’re going to align ourselves with communists.” The summit, which will be themed “High-Quality Belt and Road Cooperation: Together for Common Development and Prosperity,” will be attended by more than 110 heads of state and authorities from different countries. Topics such as “Connectivity in an Open Global Economy” are expected to be discussed; “Green Silk Road for harmony with nature” and “Digital Economy as a new source of growth”. This project is part of an economic initiative of China that invokes the ancient “Silk Road” and a commitment assumed by President Fernández in which the creation of two major commercial routes is promoted, one maritime and one land. Given this, a Cooperation Plan was also agreed with the Asian country that will allow the financing of “new infrastructure works” in the country. In this way, the head of state will stay away from the local situation in the week before the general elections on October 22. Despite the rumors that circulated, it was explained that this has nothing to do with a distancing with the official candidate and current Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa.
