5,521 in infrastructure for the Port and the city of LC: Asipona

Morelia, Michoacán.- With an investment of more than 5,521 million pesos between public and private, the port of Lázaro Cárdenas is strengthened as one of the most outstanding facilities for the movement of cargo in Mexico and North America, said the general director of Administration of the National Port System, Admiral Jorge Luis Cruz Ballado.
During the press conference, led by Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla, the general director of Asipona, explained that there are 2,665 of public investment, destined for works that improve the access of cargo transport to the Port, as well as for the city.
Regarding private investment, Cruz Ballado pointed out that there are 2,856.37 million that are used for the construction of new infrastructure developments in port terminals, highlighting the Specialized Container Terminal II, operated by the company APM Terminals, which will invest in the expansion of its second stage of 15.7 hectares, as well as the investment of 247.71 million pesos in the development of car yards.

Among the works that are carried out for the benefit of the population, there is a tourist road of access to the coastal boulevard which has two lanes, a bicycle path, a linear park of 1.3 kilometers of recreational areas, wildlife crossings, as well as a railway crossing, which presents an advance of 92 percent, where directly there are 956 million of road infrastructure in the city of Lázaro Cárdenas.
As part of this public investment, a cabotage dock, a dock for small vessels and the adaptation of infrastructure in buildings that make up the Logistics Services Area for Motor Transport are in process.
He said that, unlike other ports in the country, the Port of Lázaro Cárdenas has a direct connection to the highway, which allows it not to interfere with the ordinary activities of the city and the agile evacuation of goods.
