Gastro Japo Food Week 2023 is here: Everything you need to know about this event

The fifth GASTRO JAPO FOOD WEEK is here, the iconic gastronomic event with the best of Japanese cuisine, pastries and cocktails, in Argentina. With more than 50 participants, it will be a new opportunity to take you on an exquisite culinary journey where “OISHII” will be the compass that guides every bite in restaurants, gastronomic ventures and pastry shops, both in face-to-face format, deliveries or take away. “Oishii is more than a word, it’s a feeling in Japanese culture. It goes beyond the simple meaning of “rich” or “delicious”; It’s an exclamation that is interwoven with a deep appreciation for food that satisfies not only the palate, but also the soul. The fifth edition of Gastro Japo Food Week proudly embraces this motto, exploring the rich variety of flavors, textures, and traditions that define authentic Japanese cuisine.” invites Lorena Nonaka, head of the gastronomic association that brings together more than 60 gastronomic ventures from all over the country. A popular meal in Japan due to its high nutritional value, simplicity, flavor, and versatility. There are several types of donburi, each with its specific name depending on the ingredients used. Some common examples include:1. Katsudon: Rice with breaded pork (tonkatsu) and beaten egg, cooked together in a sweet sauce. Gyudon: Beef donburi, where beef is cooked with onions and served over rice, usually with a sauce based on soy sauce and mirin. Oyakodon: This dish has chicken and egg cooked in a sweet and sour sauce and is served over rice.4. Kaisendon: A donburi with fish and/or seafood sashimi on top.5. Tendon: This is a tenpura dish, where rice is topped with seafood and vegetable tenpura, and drizzled with a dashi-based sauce. The Donburi refers us to what is known today as Comfort Food, or katei ryouri in Japanese and for the locals, as homemade food. There will also be two instances to enjoy the best of Japanese pastry. The much-loved umami box with the best of wagashi (traditional style) and yogashi (westernized style) will be available in a limited edition that can be purchased through a pre-sale that will be announced on social networks.
