Tourists recognize security deployment on Night of the Dead

Morelia, Michoacán. – The celebration of the Night of the Dead was held in peace and tranquility, recognized tourists and visitors who chose Michoacán as a destination to celebrate this tradition on November 1 and 2, according to a statement from the state government.
There were more than 1,500 security elements who carried out inter-institutional surveillance work, from the Civil Guard, National Guard, Army and municipal police, as well as personnel from the State Coordination of Civil Protection, Ministry of Health and local relief corps.
“The issue of security was super quiet around here, people have been able to enjoy a great night of the dead; it has been very worthwhile to go and enjoy this Night of the Dead in Michoacán with the family,” shared Gabriela García, one of the tourists.
Another voice was that of Mr. Juan Carlos Álvarez, from the state of Jalisco, who said: “We come from Guadalajara and we are here visiting you and the security is very good; We’ve seen a lot of surveillance and the authorities are doing their job well.”

The surveillance was distributed in the most critical points of concentration of visitors such as the municipalities of Morelia, Pátzcuaro, Tzintzuntzan, Quiroga, Erongarícuaro and Uruapan.
Only on November 2, in the town of Tzurumútaro, in the municipality of Pátzcuaro, a road incident left two people injured, but the incident was quickly addressed, thanks to the timely security and assistance device distributed at each point of the tourist sites with the greatest affluence.
The Ministry of Public Security (SSP) and the rest of the institutions of the State Government are proud to have collaborated efficiently so that this ancestral celebration could be enjoyed by the local population, visitors and tourists in a warm and familiar atmosphere.
