Ainda at Konex: the duo celebrated their 10-year career

Ainda, the pop duo formed by Esmeralda Escalante and Yago Escrivá, gave a show at Ciudad Cultural Konex after their tour of Europe with “Ainda 10 años”, celebrating a decade of their musical career. The event was planned for Friday, December 1, but due to rain, they had to reschedule it for Sunday, December 3. “This was going to be on a Friday, are you with Friday or Sunday energy, maybe everyone is welcome,” said Esmeralda at the opening of the show at the Konex. Welcome to our 10th birthday,” said the singer of Ainda since the band’s first album “Uno” was in 2013. The night began with “Kilometers” from her latest album “Te quiero”, where the audience responded to this first song by dancing and singing. Then, they continued with “Dopamina,” also from their recent album. We’re going to make songs from all our albums,” said Esmeralda Escalante, on a night that had 20 songs and very special moments. Lado B”, “Millones”, “Lo que no quiero”, “Tu” and “Un día más” were some of the songs they played at the Konex. One of the most beautiful moments of the night was when Yago Escrivá had his opportunity as a soloist and played “El Extraño” in a piano version of his album “Animal” (2018). After singing “Rompecabezas”, Esmeralda takes stock of the 10 years in music with Ainda and mentions: “In these 10 years, little by little, some were added to play, sing, go through the studio. ” Recuerdos de Ypacaraí”, a song that we love very much, that luckily time keeps it current, because that happens with music that is beautiful and profound.” When we were young and daring, we uploaded a version to Youtube and we recorded an album, then others, and the puzzle got bigger, we went down surprising and unexpected paths”, and there he introduced the surprise of the night: “There is a person we met in a television studio and it was a very important piece because it made us fall in love with this song again and today he will accompany us here”, and El Chango took the stage. The Argentinian singer-songwriter said: “Atahualpa Yupanqui said that art is like a torch that people use to see beauty on the road, and beauty is them, with their wonderful voices that save us in those dark days. Music isn’t just entertainment, it’s that balm, that little nourishment. Here’s to many more years for both of them.” The night continued with a medley of several of his songs and then continued with his hits such as “Animal”, “Guiame” to conclude with “Meremagnum”.
