Puerto Rico. – Puerto Rican singer, Daddy Yankee, confirmed what he announced in March of last year, that he was retiring from music, this was during his last concert of his tour “La Última Vuelta World Tour”, where he mentioned that he should “give himself the opportunity to live life”.
During his last big show, the singer of hits such as “Gasolina” and “Rompe”, delighted around 18 thousand fans who accompanied him in his last recital, at the Hiram Bithorn Stadium, in Puerto Rico.
“My people, this day for me is the most important day of my life and I want to share it with you because it is not the same to live a life of success as a life with purpose”
The 46-year-old singer confessed that his decision to retire from music is because he is looking for a greater meaning to his life, that the life of an artist is not enough to feel complete as a person.
“For a long time I tried to fill a void in my life that no one else could fill. I was trying to fill in and find meaning in my life. At times I seemed to be very happy, but something was missing to make me whole. And I have to confess that those days are over.”
On his social networks, through a publication, the native of San Juan, also took the time to confirm what he already said in his last concert:
“Family: This day for me is the most important day of my life… Tonight I acknowledge and am not ashamed to tell the whole world that Christ lives in me and that I will live for him. This is the end of a chapter and the beginning of a whole new one,” is part of what can be read in the Instagram post, which the singer uploaded.
