The AFA’s decision: they confirmed the promotion of two more teams to the Primera B Metropolitana

Liniers and Sportivo Italiano will play next season in the Primera B Metropolitana, benefiting from the point of the regulation that establishes the need to have 22 teams in the category. After having been protagonists of the final and semifinal of the Reduced of the Primera C, both teams will play next season in the third category of Argentine football, accompanying Excursionistas, San Martín de Burzaco, Laferrere and Midland, who had already obtained their respective tickets through the different forms available in the divisional. According to Bulletin 6221 and as stipulated, the Liniers Social and Sports Club was promoted to the First Division B to complete the quota of 22 teams coming next season. Likewise, as Club Atlético San Miguel achieved promotion to the Primera Nacional today, the number of teams in the category returned to 21. That is why Club Sportivo Italiano (after the others promoted from the category) is promoted to Primera B to complete the quota according to the general standings,” the AFA said in a statement released in the last few hours. In the regulations of the first C of 2023, it was established in point 2.2 that “in the event that one or more teams are required to integrate the 1st. Division ‘B’ in the 2024 Season, the team or teams that obtained the best positions in the 2023 Final Standings Table, excluding the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of the 2023 Final Standings Table and the Winner of the ‘Reduced’ Tournament for the 4th promotion”.
