“What If…?”: the second season of the Marvel series premiered

The first episode of the second season of Marvel Studios’ “What If…?” is now available on Disney+. To mark the holidays, a new episode will premiere every day for the next eight days. The new installment continues the path in which The Watcher guides viewers through the vast Multiverse, introducing new and familiar faces throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The animated anthology series questions, revisites, and puts new spin on Marvel cinematic moments with an incredible voice cast that includes a host of stars reprising their iconic roles. The episodes are directed by Bryan Andrews (episodes 2-9) and Stephan Franck (episode 1) and written by A.C. Bradley (episodes 3, 4, 5, and 8), Matthew Chauncey (episodes 1-3, 7, and 9), and Ryan Little (episodes 6-8). The animated series is executive produced by Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Bryan Andrews and A.C. Bradley. Jeffrey Wright (The Batman) returns as The Watcher, joining a group of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) stars reprising their roles. “Everyone has been great,” director Bryan Andrews said in a press release. Cate Blanchett really got right into this version of Hela that we have. And of course, Hayley Atwell as our Captain Carter – to see that character go through what they go through and move on – it’s amazing what Hayley brings to the table. And we had Jon Favreau do a couple of versions of Happy Hogan and it was a blast. He’s amazing and really put in the effort. I asked him to do some crazy stuff in our 1602-inspired episode and he did it in a big way… It was a lot of fun,” he added.
