The chain of purchase and sale of copper in telecommunications networks will be investigated

At 8 a.m. On Friday, a group of criminals, in search of copper, intentionally cut Claro’s fiber optic line in the town of Godoy Cruz, Mendoza. This criminal act led to the massive disruption of residential telecommunications services (internet; TV and landline telephony).  When trunk cables, located in the area of Av. San Martin Sur and Ceretti, were cut, around 12,000 customers were affected. Likewise, the company will request the maximum collaboration and intervention of the authorities of the security forces to investigate the chain of people involved in the purchase and sale of copper in the area and materials of telecommunications networks. Claro points out that its network is entirely fiber optic and does not have copper. As part of the actions to combat these crimes, the company enabled the contact number 0800-123-8444 to collect information from anyone who could provide any information about the case of affecting thousands of customers in Godoy Cruz.
