An 18-year-old was stabbed to death in Santa Teresita while celebrating New Year’s Eve

An 18-year-old man, identified as Tomás Valentín Tello Ferreira, was stabbed to death by a gang while celebrating New Year’s Eve on the Santa Teresita waterfront. So far, nine people have been arrested in connection with the crime, with two of those arrested being minors. The incident occurred around 7 a.m. at the intersection of 44th Street and Costanera Avenue in the seaside resort. According to preliminary information, Tello Ferreira was surprised by a group of individuals, who for no apparent reason, attacked him with a knife and blows. Trying to escape, the young man was intercepted a few meters from the sea, where the gang continued to violently attack him. The injuries sustained, especially a puncture wound to the chest, forced his urgent transfer to the local hospital, where he died. So far, authorities have arrested nine people in connection with this crime, two of them minors. However, the precise motives that triggered this brutal attack are still unknown. The search for the murder weapon continues while awaiting the results of the autopsy, key to shedding light on the exact causes of this tragedy. Prosecutor Pablo Gamaleri, in charge of the investigation, has ordered a series of proceedings to clarify what happened. In the meantime, adult detainees are at the disposal of the courts, while minors will be investigated by the Juvenile Responsibility Court.
