“Escape Room”: the comedy that dazzles on Calle Corrientes

In recent years, visiting an “Escape Room” has become more and more frequent; With friends, with a partner, it was always a good plan where the intelligence of each one is tested. However, in this play, strange things begin to happen that surprise both the audience and the protagonists.” Escape Room” premiered last Friday, January 5 and since then it has not stopped shining at the Multitabaris Comafi theater, where the audience laughs and enjoys every scene starring Benjamin Rojas, Brenda Gandini, Sofi Morandi and Gonzalo Suárez directed by Nelson Valente.La comedy takes place in the neighborhood of San Telmo and the story begins when Edu (Benja Rojas) wants to introduce his new girlfriend Marina (Sofi Morandi) to a Vicky (Brenda Gandini) and Rai (Gonzalo Suárez). For this first meeting, Edu organizes something that is very fashionable: an “Escape Room” game, in which the four friends will have to solve a series of riddles that will allow them to leave the room. As the play unfolds, the protagonists must overcome a series of challenges, some easier than others, but there the relationship between both couples but also between friends is put to the test. Also, as soon as the door to the room closes tightly, very strange things start to happen.
The play is a box of surprises and unexpected twists that will keep the viewer intrigued with moments of comedy and suspense. Many secrets are revealed, and that, inevitably, changes the dynamics of relationships. All the characters have their moment where they stand out and shine in front of the audience. Marina (Sofi Morandi) and Edu (Benja Rojas) represent those first moments when the couple begins to socialize with friends but at the same time faces prejudices from both others and their own. Meanwhile, Vicky (Brenda Gandini) and Rai (Gonzalo Suárez) are a couple of several years, where they both dedicate themselves to cinema, and they stand out for prioritizing appearances and only seek to “look good” for the outside. Something new is that the whole work takes place inside the “Escape Room”, that is, from there inside they are exposed and make you part of a story that takes rhythm as the characters open up, reveal their personalities and ends with a totally surprising ending. Another highlight is the scenography, from the entrance door to the details of the stage make the play surprise each spectator in the effects that are happening. The script, on the other hand, is adapted to our country, with discussions that we hear on a day-to-day basis and that invites you to reflect on the bonds and communication in the couple, as well as between friends.
