The Most Sought-After Jobs of 2023 and Those Projected Into 2024

According to the “Labor Data Report 2023/2024” prepared by Ceta Capital Humano, a company specializing in personnel management, the balance in the Argentine labor market in 2023 showed that 13.4 million people had at least one occupation (i.e., they work at least one hour), while another 800,000 are actively looking for work or are available for work. The sectors with the greatest expansion in the volume of notices were: gastronomy and tourism; Logistics & Production: Mining; oil and gas, and customer support. In terms of geographical distribution, the provinces with the highest activity rate were: Buenos Aires, Mendoza, Santa Fe and Tucumán with an average of more than 20% ordered compared to 2022.“2023 was a year marked by searches aimed at production, distribution and operational positions, which gave a very positive balance for job creation. Projections for 2024Looking ahead to this year’s development, the following trends are expected to predominate in each region:- Northwest: an increase in the demand for personnel is expected in the logistics, agribusiness, mining, HR and packaging sectors.- Northeast: personnel will be required for roles such as warehouse operators, customer service and various trades.- Cuyo: there will be an active search for workers in logistics; warehouse operators; hospitality and gastronomy; customer support; mail, and production.- Center: opportunities are anticipated at loading and unloading stations; manufacturing technicians; business roles; gastronomy, and specialized operators.- Patagonia: opportunities in gastronomy, fishing and energy will be highlighted.- Buenos Aires: professionals will be needed in accounting, commercial, administration, customer service, technicians, operators and account executives.
