Mexico. – The Jenkins-Del Toro Scholarship 2024 opened its call, with the support of great personalities and institutions such as Guillermo del Toro, the Mary Street Jenkins Foundation, the Board of Trustees of the Guadalajara International Film Festival, A.C. University of Guadalajara (FICG Board of Trustees), and the University of Guadalajara A.C. Foundation.
 
This scholarship seeks to promote the development of Mexican cinematographic art and promote this industry as a point of cultural, artistic, social and economic development in Mexico, the scholarship calls for individuals of Mexican nationality who wish to pursue bachelor’s or master’s degree studies abroad in any field related to cinematography.
 
“We are here because of an idea promoted by Raúl Padilla, who suggested the creation of this scholarship, a proposal seconded by the University of Guadalajara and by Roberto (Jenkins), who above all has been generous, committed to this idea. We have had the great happiness of how it has borne fruit with people whose lives have changed by opening such a specific door for a discipline as specific as cinema,” said Guillermo del Toro, during the announcement of the call.
 
This scholarship began in 2018, which has proven to be a showcase for film talent, the resources provided by the Jenkins Foundation take care of very important aspects such as: accommodation, food, medical and life insurance, as well as an allowance for books and study materials.
