Yellow alert for storms and hail for seven provinces

The National Meteorological Service (SMN) again warned this Friday for strong storm phenomena, which could include hail and wind, for different areas of the north of the country. The agency’s warning is a yellow alert that is in effect this Friday for north and west of Misiones, north of Corrientes, all of Chaco, all of Formosa, north of Santiago del Estero, all of Salta except the mountain range and south of Jujuy.
According to the SMN report, “the area will be affected by rains and storms, some of them strong. They will be accompanied by strong electrical activity, occasional hail, intense gusts and mainly abundant rainfall in short periods.” The agency indicated that accumulated precipitation values between 50 and 70 mm are estimated, and may be exceeded in a timely manner. – Not taking out the trash. Remove objects that prevent water from draining.
– Avoid outdoor activities.
– Do not take shelter near trees and power poles that may fall.
– To minimize the risk of being struck by lightning, do not stay on beaches, rivers, lagoons or swimming pools.
– Be aware of possible hail.
– Get information from the authorities. Always have an emergency backpack ready with a flashlight, radio, documents and phone.
