AMLO denies having anything to do with the departure of Azucena Uresti – MonitorExpresso.com

After political actors in Mexico insinuated that the departure of journalist Azucena Uresti from her space on Milenio Television had to do with pressure from the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, he denied it in his morning conference.
On Monday morning, President López Obrador was questioned about the journalist’s departure from her space on the television channel, from where she repeatedly criticized the federal administration.
“The journalist, I don’t know if in good or bad faith, puts that out of the circumstances and the messages start pouring in talking about censorship. But that’s the atmosphere. Soon after, the newspaper, the television station that reached an agreement with her, clarified (…) And that’s it, but there are going to be a lot of things like that, because there are elections coming up and there are always nerves,” said the federal president.
And although Azucena Uresti herself said in her farewell that her departure took place “given the current circumstances”, which gave rise to assumptions about possible censorship, it was later mentioned that her departure was voluntary to continue with her news space, but in another media outlet.
In this regard, President López Obrador criticized the fact that he has been pointed out as responsible for the departure of Azucena Uresti and assured that there is no censorship.
López Obrador emphasized journalist Azucena Uresti’s use of the word “circumstances.” In this regard, he said that it was better to use that word than to appeal to a term such as “the conjuncture.”
However, the president stressed that there is “no special circumstance in the media” and that freedom of expression is guaranteed to all
