Morelia, Michoacán.- Elías Ibarra Torres, Secretary of Government of the State of Michoacán, in an interview with the media, said that the coordination of the three levels of government, as well as all the security organs, is essential to be able to guarantee the elections on June 2.
“The collaboration of the three levels, that is what gives results, the municipality, the state and the federation, also the different bodies that seek pacification, such as the army, the navy, the national guard and the civil guard, that is what the inter-institutional bases of operations (BOIS) are for.”
Ibarra Torres also mentioned that there has been a decrease in intentional homicides, while the cities of Morelia, Uruapan and Zamora have lowered their crime rates.
“Intentional homicides have decreased by up to thirty percent, it has decreased in the three cities that had high crime rates, which were Zamora, Morelia and Uruapan, up to forty percent, there are the statistics, the numbers, they are very cold, we do not like to have positive numbers, however, they are indications that progress is being made.”
Similarly, the former Secretary of Health reported that thanks to the decrease in crimes and homicides, more tourism and more printing are generated for the state.
“That generates more tourists coming to Michoacán, that companies invest in Michoacán, that citizens can go out to work without fear of not returning, then generate pacification, generate well-being and circulating money, this generates confidence in foreigners from all countries to come to Michoacán.”
