Vigils, popular festivals, masses and peñas are some of the activities that will be held in different parts of the country for the canonization of Mama Antula, who will become this Sunday the first Argentine saint of the Catholic Church, in a ceremony presided over by the pope Francisco.La canonization will begin at 9:30 a.m. local time (5:30 a.m. in Argentina) with a ceremony that will take place in St. Peter’s Basilica. “There are many collateral descendants of Mama Antula who will attend the celebration and St. Peter’s Basilica will be filled with people from Santiago, Tucuman, Santa Fe and Argentines from all over the world,” said Jorge Bayá Casal, sixth nephew of the current blessed, who organizes the pilgrimage of the relatives to Rome. where this Friday and Saturday at 6 p.m. there will be veneration of relics, recitation of the rosary at 6:15 p.m. and a mass at 7 p.m., celebrated by the parish priest Raúl Laurencena.In addition, this Friday the stained glass windows and the original cross of the Basilica of La Piedad will be exhibited on the funeral monument of Mama Antula.
