Axel Kicillof on Remembrance Day: “We come to reaffirm that there were 30,000”

On a new Day of Remembrance for Truth and Justice, the governor of the province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, was present at the door of the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo Foundation to give a speech and, subsequently, dialogue with the media present. The example is to be in the square, they come to repress, we come to march for the future. We come to reaffirm that there were 30,000, for memory, truth and justice. How can we not fight if that’s what you taught us,” he told those present in allusion to the struggle of the Mothers. Then, in dialogue with the media present, he was “very excited” by the mobilization and strongly questioned the denialist position of the Milei government: “It seems incredible that we have to discuss again those things that are an emblem in Argentina and are the central milestone on which the Mothers’ struggle has been built. Argentine democracy in these 40 years after the dictatorship.” It was those struggles that made it possible for someone today to be in the Casa Rosada by popular vote, so they should honor them, we should honor the Mothers and Grandmothers,” he added. And he stated that “it is the first time that some sectors that have the highest responsibilities question this type of thing. It is not a question of contrast or trenches or chicanas, I believe that all those who are here are defending democracy, truth and justice and that should not have a political flag. And I think the novelty is that they want to deny what happened in Argentina and that, as you can see, is not something that our people are willing to allow.” The Buenos Aires governor attended along with Verónica Magario, vice governor of Buenos Aires, and mayors Fernando Espinoza of La Matanza, Pablo Javier Zurro of Pehuajó, Jorge Ferraresi of Avellaneda, and Mario Secco of Ensenada.
