The Government will increase the First Thousand Days of Life Plan by 500%

The National Government, through the Ministry of Human Capital, announced that it will increase by 500% the amount of the program aimed at providing comprehensive support to pregnant women and children up to three years of age.” At the Ministry of Human Capital, our priority is to invest in early childhood so that our children can develop and be free. It is an investment in the future of the country, an investment in its Human Capital,” said Minister Sandra Pettovello. In this sense, the allocation will go from $3,303 to $19,818 and will reach 69,689 pregnant women and 598,764 children up to 3 years old, with a total reach of 668,453 beneficiaries. The amount in both cases, AUH and Pregnancy Allowance, will be about 72,372 pesos per month, which results from the $52,554 of these allowances plus the $19,818 of the Thousand Days Plan. The First Thousand Days of Life Plan consists of three specific programs with different objectives:The first is to reduce premature births and maternal and infant morbidity and mortality at the local level through territorial operations in neighborhoods with high indicators of vulnerability and risks in health. The second is to focus on Early Childhood and Family Spaces, sites of promotion, containment and development for children from 45 days to 3 years old in vulnerable situations. We will work comprehensively with the child and his or her family to achieve their full development and we will accompany and monitor them so that the intervention is of quality. Finally, the third will be Family Accompaniment and will be aimed at families with a high index of vulnerability, whose children from 0 to 3 years old do not have health checks, are underweight, are premature children, with insufficient food and/or live in a family environment of risk.
