Kravetz said half of the people who are homeless “are dangerous.”

On Sunday and after a week marked by demonstrations and police repression, the Secretary of Security of the City, Diego Kravetz, referred to what has happened in recent days, gave his opinion on those who are homeless and the possibility of lowering the age of responsibility. In an interview with Radio Millenium, he pointed out that “there are many people living on the streets and half of them, about 650, have a criminal record, according to a survey carried out by the State with the IDs of these people,” and, when asked if he believed that these people are dangerous, he replied that they are because “they have improper weapons, such as knives and knives.” In addition, he said that “of all those who are homeless, with or without a record, those who are from the City are the fewest. In general, they come from the province.” “There are a lot of homeless people who are opportunistic about the situation, who like to live in ranchadas,” he added. Regarding the lowering of the age of responsibility, he stated that “a 14-year-old boy who has been committing crimes since he was 9 does not have the mentality of your son or mine. When he enters a police station more than once, he must be taken away from his parents and a warm measure must be taken. You don’t have to idealize the family because not all of them are valuable for taking care of children.” On the other hand, regarding the crossings between police officers and demonstrators, who were pepper-sprayed, the leader, who used to be chief of staff and responsible for the security area of the Municipality of Lanús, said that “we have to manage within the framework of the law and that is not a minor issue, it is a management with clearer limits of what can and cannot be done.” And, finally, he explained that “then they were pushed with the shields to return to the sidewalk and there what happened is that there was a violent reaction by the teacher unionists against the Police”, and that “I think that everyone can express what they want, but here what is discussed is the logic of how we make demands”.
