5 deputies resume their functions in the Legislative Palace and 3 more officially separate from their position – MonitorExpresso.com

Morelia, Michoacán. – After the election campaign, which is why some deputies requested leave to leave their functions, five incumbent legislators have returned to the seats; In addition, a month and a half after the official letter had been issued by the interested parties, three other deputies were granted leave. Four citizens, Eréndira Isauro Hernández, María Fernanda Álvarez Mendoza, Fanny Lisstte Arreola Pichardo and Mónica Estela Valdés Pulido, and citizen Juan Carlos Barragán Vélez have sent to the board of directors of the Plenary the official letter from which to inform their prompt reincorporation to the Congress of the state of Michoacán on Friday, May 31, 2024. However, it is worth noting that Álvarez Mendoza, Valdés Pulido and Barragán Vélez were not present at the two ordinary sessions held today in “the house of the people”. Even without their presence, the legal quorum was established through which attention could be given to the agenda indicated, which included, among other things, the resolution to the request of two deputies, Ana Belinda Hurtado Marín and Samanta Flores Adame, and the deputy Marco Polo Aguirre Chávez who since the middle of the previous month sent the corresponding official letter to the Committee on Internal Regime and Parliamentary Practices. In session, it was announced, through the reading of the letter, that Hurtado Marín requested his license since April 15, 2024 and since then it has taken effect, however, citizen María Judith Morales Diaz had not been notified to fulfill her duties as an alternate deputy. This is how, to this day, he has protested. And although it has been reported that the seats will be filled little by little, it is worth noting that in the case of the incumbent Flores Adame, of whom it was clarified that she made her request for leave since April 12 of this year and as soon as this pending was vented, her alternate deputy Martha Alejandra Vázquez Rodríguez did not attend the Plenary for the swearing-in. In the case of the incumbent deputy Marco Polo Aguirre Chávez, he requested to leave his position since April 15, 2024 and until today, Friday, May 31, he has been officially granted leave; To this end, citizen Javier Maldonado Torres was asked to go as soon as possible to exercise functions as an alternate deputy. It should be noted that for the president of the Commission of Internal Regime and Parliamentary Practices, Fidel Calderón Torreblanca, this fact that responds to a late resolution so that the alternates can take office diminishes the purpose of the state Congress, which is to “represent popular sovereignty in a complete way,” as well as “the interests of the people of Michoacán.”
