Arce against Milei for his statements about the attempted coup d’état: “It does not help the good neighborhood”

After the Argentine government issued a statement in which it described the attempted coup d’état in Bolivia as “fraudulent” and the country’s Foreign Ministry responded that it was an “excess and unacceptable denialism”, President Luis Arce crossed it with his counterpart Javier Milei. Arce made it clear that “these statements made by Mr. Milei are not surprising. It has conflicts with Spain; it has conflicts with Brazil, it has conflicts with Paraguay; has had altercations with Chile as well”, and that “in reality, I think that the conflict they have shown does not help the good neighbourhood”. In addition, the Bolivian president was angry because, beyond a statement from the Foreign Ministry, Milei was silent during the duration of the military uprising in La Paz, which occurred last Wednesday, June 26. It is worth noting that, last Monday, Bolivia recalled its ambassador to Argentina for consultations and, in view of this, the minister and spokesperson for the presidency, María Nela Prada, said that “our ambassador of the Plurinational State of Bolivia in Argentina, Ramiro Tapia, was summoned for consultation to be present at the seat of government.” And then, through a statement, it was made clear that “at the meeting, the absolute rejection of the uninformed and slanderous statements made in relation to the failed military coup d’état, which occurred on June 26, was ratified,” and it was added that “the Bolivian Government rejected the publication of the Office of the President of the Argentine Republic, such as the new aggressions carried out on July 2 through a publication on the social network X by the president of Argentina.” Likewise, the Argentine people are reiterated their deep gratitude for the expressions of condemnation of the failed military coup d’état and the demonstrations of solidarity with the Bolivian people, its democratically elected government and its constitutional president, Luis Alberto Arce Catacora,” the message concluded.
