Olympic diver Paola Espinosa filed a complaint of threats and moral damage against those responsible for attacks and threats on social media.
The medalist went to the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) after the attacks she has received and considers her physical integrity endangered.

“I am filing a threat complaint that I have received in this time. You can’t play with the safety of my daughter, my family. I’m also filing a moral damage lawsuit to anyone who’s responsible,” he said.

Prior to her departure to Korea to compete at the World Swimming Championships, the competitor is concerned about the situation arising from the process of integrating the national team, both the World Cups and the Pan American Lima Games 2019.

Although he did not mention what kind of aggressionhes he has received or from whom, Espinosa maintained that he is known by the means of the dives of those who are mentioned, “everyone knows more how this process has been lived, then it is simply the fact of defending myself and reaching the last without consequences.”
Without giving names, the Pan American medalist commented that she has seen the kind of aggressionthat has been made towards her person, “as a woman, as an athlete and as a mother”.
Espinosa, who is considered the best diver in Mexico, was accompanied by her lawyer, Alfredo Massad, and Carlos Esquivel, her legal representative, to bring the lawsuit against people who have assaulted her through social media.
Massad explained that the complaint is not against Deputy Ernesto D’Alessio, who questioned the qualification of the Olympic medalist for the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru. However, he detailed that his comments on social media are what have generated the attacks and threats.

The problem has been generated after the selective process, in which several competitors expressed their dissatisfaction with the way the diggers were qualified for the national team, both the World Swimming Championships in Korea and the Pan American Games Lima 2019.
Paola Espinosa is a diver who has participated in four Olympic Games and three world diving championships, among these jousts adds 5 medals. She is also the diver with the most medals at The Central American Games. Paola, 32, is currently preparing for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
