The period of performance for this mechanism is one year, with the option to renew finishing this time, although the Under-Secretary for human rights hoped that it is not necessary to extend the period of work, and results within the next 12 months.
“The only truth about the Ayotzinapa case is that there is still no truth,” Holm added.
Vidulfo Rosales, of the Tlachinollan human rights Center, said that during the last administration, “there was no will (for the investigate of the facts), but yes today is having.” With this desire and this reinforced mechanism we can clarify the case”.
Hilda Legideño, mother of one of the missing fearfully, said that for years both them and their children, “have been criminalized, even in our State officials who have said that our children deserve it”.

Arozamena said that in addition to the presentation of the mechanism, the IACHR delivered this Monday the final reports of the follow-up to the Ayotzinapa case.
“Today we are still committed to the construction of the truth of this case (…) failure to execute arrest warrants against key figures who participated in fateful night of September 26, 2014, said the President of the IACHR.
He added that with the implementation of this mechanism, Mexican authorities must find the key pieces within each line of this information to find the truth.
“The Commission is clear that it is important to call historical truth, which already has been questioned by courts to leave behind. It has to be a new narrative. Misnamed historical truth is ruled out, “it said.
To start with this mechanism works, the IACHR has already a monitoring team based in Mexico, consisting of two persons, also envisages the participation of ex-members of the interdisciplinary group of independent experts (GIEI)” for very specific actions in investigations handled by previous experience in the case”, said Arozamena.
