translated from Spanish: The story of the rock fanatic who managed to produce his own festival

“To reach the maximum degree of happiness”, with these words Pablo Pacheco defines what rock means in his life. The 39-year-old resident of Balvanera prepares and refines the latest details for the “Pachefest”, the festival that will take place next Saturday, July 27. The event, which starts from 9 p.m. at The Other Place, will feature bands such as Baby Beast, Flemish and Villains. For Pablo he represents the famous “dream of the kid”: as a rock fan, after many years he was able to fulfill his goal of producing a festival. Looking to date, Filo.News spoke with the Pacheco and his friend and Pachefest producer, Carlos Sanfelippo, to learn more about the behind-the-scenes: whether it’s how he started the project or what it means to be able to put on such a show both to personal level as a musical.” Life for rock and roll”

Under that motto the festival is organized. It’s no coincidence: “Rock marked me in my whole life,” Pacheco acknowledges. He then adds: “I decided to do it to claim the essence of this music that many people are passionate about. In my house since I was a kid you can hear rock, I almost breathe rock 24 hours.” The idea was born among four friends, who know each other from high school and who shared memorable recitals together; today, they still share the same passion. After a meeting, the need arose for an “innovative festival”.
“Paul can go to a show alone, rather than stay at his house,” his friend confesses.

However, it was not an easy thing to achieve, as for Pacheco it implied “extreme professionalism and a lot of dedication”; Still, that’s not something he lacks: Sanfelippo claimed that his friend continues with a “permanent search” attitude, he is surprised by new bands all the time.

“You can go to a show alone, rather than stay at home,” he explains, adding, “He’s an introverted guy who’s found a place in rock to unleash his passions. He’s getting excited. You see him laughing at a recital. It leaves a lot more than a couple of hours during a show.” For Pacheco, rock guided him and allowed him to overcome adversity: “He marked me in every way and always helped me in any circumstance of life. I’m not a musician, and producing a festival is something I’ve been dreaming about for a long time.” We have been saying for some time that he deserved a rock festival with his name, that he chooses the bands, that there is always an under spirit, and that he has the style of rock that we still stand for, which is the one that leads to this music to be a way of living” Sanfelippo says. However, in the midst of the economic crisis in the country, it was not an easy thing to achieve. For that, they felt that they were not creating a festival “for the business”, but that the goal went much further.
“We do it out of passion, a dream. If we draw it is a success. We see it as difficult. We pay for everything. The bands, the place. We don’t have the bar and we charge cheaply. We have only the entry fee. And it’s hard. Spreading is difficult. It’s hard for people to choose you. We’re not behind a business. If we don’t lose too much, there’ll be more. Otherwise it would have been very nice,” says Sanfelippo, what kind of rock did you choose to perform at the festival? As the producer said, the genre does not go through “its best days”: “It is very diffuse rock in youth. I don’t judge at all the tastes of children who are in schools, growing up, but rock is no longer prevalent. And we stand up for a certain culture and way of understanding rock life,” he says. In turn, with regard to the women’s quota at the festival, the producer indicated that they are predisposed to “equal opportunities”, as the girls “gain ground” and “seduce the public”; considers it the task of the industry to be able to allow the dissemination of all the great artists that are born day by day.
“A rock band that excites us and has a drink is enough,” Sanfelippo confesses.

“A show for pache can be a moment of loss (of cell phones), rebellion (sweeping a policeman), of emotion (crying with a theme), of pain (receiving blows in a payment), of excesses (drinking to have no more money),” concludes his friend, thus summarizing the spirit of his am I go Paul at the recitals: “I know him well, I can tell you that he’s not as happy anywhere as watching a band. Therefore, to have your festival is to touch the sky with your hands.” In this note:
